Job Description

Job Overview When you join our team you will be utilizing your healthcare and/or customer service skills to assist with every step of the blood collection process. This includes collaborating with your team to transport and set up equipment at the collection sites in local communities, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for volunteer donors, and following all safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations that are delivered to hospitals. Key Responsibilities Take the time to personally connect with donors, listen to their stories, and help them understand how impactful their donation is. Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment so volunteer donors feel comfortable returning. Be detail‑oriented to ensure that the blood collected meets regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused. May drive Red Cross vehicles and work with the team to set up and tear down equipment at donation sites. Position requires a minimum height of 60 inches to safely operate the vehicles. Standard Schedule (Nashville, Tennessee) Variable schedule that may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and potential overnight travel multiple times a month. Schedule provided two to three weeks in advance. Pay Information Starting rate $24.81 per hour. Sign‑on bonus of $4,500. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills. Current, valid driver's license with Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a good driving record. Experience driving large vehicles strongly preferred. DOT certification required. Must pass applicable DOT physical and related requirements and be able to possess or obtain a medical certification of at least one‑year duration. Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand for long periods, adapt to long, irregular hours, and frequent schedule changes. Position requires a minimum height of 60 inches to safely operate Red Cross vehicles. All staff work team‑based to set up and tear down the equipment for mobile blood drives at businesses, schools, and other locations. Basic computer skills required. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.). Prior leadership experience.
