Java Kai in Kīlauea is seeking a dedicated and energetic Dishwasher/Busser to join our team in a fast-paced cafe environment. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen and dining areas. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and hospitality, ensuring that our guests enjoy a pleasant dining experience. Must be available to work * both * Monday and Tuesday . Additional shifts available on Saturday and Sunday as Line Cook for the right candidate. Dishwasher shifts run from 7am-3pm.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment to maintain cleanliness standards.
• Properly utilize dishwasher and maintain awareness of appropriate dish chemical levels.
• Assist with bussing tables by clearing dishes and silverware and wiping tables clean.
• Sort and stack clean dishes in an organized fashion. Return dishes to their proper locations once washed.
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas by sweeping, mopping, and taking out trash.
• Follow all food safety guidelines to ensure safety and quality of food served.

Experience

• Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with food safety practices is advantageous.
• Experience in bussing, cleaning, or culinary roles will be considered a plus.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow supervisor direction.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs
