The Electrical Maintenance Technician based in Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, ensures the reliable operation of barriers, hydraulic barrier systems, and access control systems to maintain secure access to restricted areas. This independent field technician works both independently and as part of a maintenance team, collaborating with cross-functional project teams. The role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing barrier systems, requiring strong electrical expertise and willingness to travel up to 50% across the Northeastern U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Install hydraulic barriers, boom gates, turnstiles, bollards, electronic gates, and access control systems in compliance with safety standards.
  • Perform regular inspections, maintenance, lubrication, cleaning, and adjustments to mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic components.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and software issues to diagnose and resolve system faults efficiently.
  • Conduct on-site repairs and coordinate with suppliers for parts procurement and warranty claims.
  • Test and calibrate barrier and hydraulic systems to ensure safety, accuracy, and proper access control functionality.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of maintenance, repairs, inventory, and equipment specifications.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and verify safety mechanisms to prevent accidents.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns, scheduling maintenance, and delivering technical support.
  • Manage inventory and communicate technical information effectively across teams.
