Job Description

The University of Southern California (USC) Department of Facilities Planning & Management (FPM) is seeking an Elevator Maintenance Mechanic to join its team. Responsibilities Perform standard elevator procedures and maintenance tasks. Monitor and maintain elevators on the university campus. Respond to emergencies and assist trapped passengers. Determine materials required for maintenance or remodeling. Purchase materials and services, and initiate requests. Prepare reports and maintenance records as needed. Initiate work orders for elevator maintenance repairs. Train other journeymen on specific skills and tasks as required. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time. Compensation The hourly rate range for this position is $47.84-$56.73. Qualifications Preferred qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Experience working with motion controls Experience working with GAL door equipment Minimum qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Three years of experience in the maintenance and repair of cable and hydraulic elevators Knowledge of city and state building codes and elevator codes Familiarity with major elevator manufacturers and equipment Knowledge of all elevator mechanical functions Demonstrated ability to work independently Demonstrated communication skills Valid/current Los Angeles Department of Building Services elevator mechanic Journey level license and state of CA certified competent conveyance mechanic (CCCM) General Certification Valid California"’s driver"’s license for a minimum of two years Strong commitment to USC's Unifying Values EEO & Disability Accommodation Statement USC is an equal opportunity employer.
