A Program Technician assists with all aspects of the maintenance of Atlanta’s public right‑of‑way, park trees, and greenspaces to sustain the health and vigor of Atlanta’s urban canopy. Technicians will work closely with Trees Atlanta program staff. Teams are sourced from volunteers. What we will train you to do Perform proper tree maintenance – watering, mulching, and pruning Remove target species such as privet or kudzu Maintain company‑owned tools and equipment, including small‑engine equipment and vehicles Use pesticides and herbicides under the direction of licensed applicators (training provided before use) Serve and educate the Metro Atlanta community with a positive attitude while carrying out the Trees Atlanta mission to protect and grow the city’s canopy Assist with managing groups of volunteers (3‑20 people) on weekly maintenance projects What you need Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively Ability to work in a physically demanding environment that requires repetitive bending, lifting, and shoveling Comfortable working outside in all weather conditions between 7:00am and 4:00pm Monday‑Friday Willingness to work as part of a team and effectively communicate with other team members Ability to be an example of integrity and create a respectful work environment with others Ability to effectively and efficiently maintain and complete projects Updated tetanus shot before start date This position is a seasonal/temporary assignment with a 90‑day probationary period.
