This volunteer position's role is to pick up animals from the Nebraska Humane Society in Omaha (8929 Fort St, Omaha, NE 68134) and deliver them to our Baldwin Wildlife Center (9777 M St, Omaha, NE 68127). We typically have one AM shift and one PM shift per day, 7 days a week, year-round. Additional shifts may be created depending on the season.
Our current primary need is for on-call transporters, to help out when one of our weekly volunteers is unable to do their shift. We are usually able to give on-call transporters a couple days notice of shifts we'd like them to cover.
There is a required in-person Volunteer Orientation as well as an additional in-person Humane Society Transport Volunteer Training Class that need to be completed before you can sign up for shifts.
All volunteers must be over the age of 18, have proof of valid auto insurance and a valid driver's license.
