Job Description: Pet Care Provider
Position Overview:
As a Pet Care Provider, you will be responsible for offering high-quality care to a variety of pets, ensuring their well-being, safety, and comfort. You will provide services such as dog walking, pet sitting, feeding, and administering medications, while also offering companionship and attention. This role requires someone with a deep love for animals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide pet sitting, dog walking, and feeding services based on the specific needs of each pet.
Ensure pets receive exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation in a safe environment.
Monitor the health and behavior of pets, and promptly report any concerns to owners.
Administer medications or special treatments as required.
Clean and maintain pet areas, including litter boxes, kennels, and food/water bowls.
Transport pets to vet appointments or grooming sessions as needed.
Offer specialized care for senior or special-needs pets, including managing dietary restrictions or mobility challenges.
Communicate regularly with pet owners, providing updates on their pets’ well-being and any notable observations.
Follow all safety protocols to ensure pets remain safe during care or transport.
Qualifications:
Passion for working with animals and understanding of their needs.
Experience in pet care or animal handling is preferred.
Knowledge of pet first aid and CPR (certification is a plus).
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to handle pets of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
Reliable and trustworthy, with the ability to manage a flexible schedule.
Physical ability to walk, lift, or handle pets as required.
Valid driver’s license (for transporting pets, if applicable).
Working Vehicle
Valid Insurance on the vehicle
Work Environment:
This position requires working in clients' homes or outdoor environments, depending on the services offered. You may be required to handle pets with various personalities and physical conditions, so patience and adaptability are essential.
Schedule:
Flexible, based on client needs. Weekends, holidays, and overnight stays may be required.
