HF Sinclair is seeking a Process Safety Engineer in El Dorado, KS who will be responsible for the development, implementation, execution, and monitoring of key Process Safety programs and systems for HF Sinclair. This role supports safe, reliable, and profitable refinery operations by ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate standards, and recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices (RAGAGEP).
Provide day-to-day Process Safety support to refinery operations and engineering teams.
Serve as the refinery Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) Technical Authority.
Perform and maintain monthly performance metric reporting for Process Safety programs and systems.
Provide technical guidance, training, and presentations on developing and evolving Process Safety initiatives.
Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and program owner for the following Process Safety programs and systems:
Serve as a key contributor to the HF Alky API 751 Site Team and participate in fleetwide communities of practice.
Participate in refinery Process Safety audits and assessments.
Support Process Safety Management (PSM) action item tracking and closure, including participation in Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs) as required.
Actively contribute to the fleetwide community of practice for Process Safety Engineers and PSV Management.
Perform special assignments or additional tasks as assigned by management.
A minimum of a bachelor's engineering degree is required.

Office and plant based with up to 20% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, and out-of-doors environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, wet and/or oil contaminated conditions, at both below grade and elevated positions, and working in confined spaces. Subject to all temperatures, weather and varying road conditions.
