The Katella Delicatessen-Restaurant-Bakery, located in Los Alamitos, has been a landmark for the last 50 years. We are a classic Jewish Deli that is recently expanded and revamped. Some of the exciting changes is out Fresh Roasted Coffee, a State-of-the-Art Bar, a Scratch Pizza Oven, and new menu selections.
We are looking for an Restaurant Manager who is responsible for ensuring excellence in guest satisfaction through effective training and development of hourly staff and having a positive and committed “Do whatever it takes” attitude. Must have a hand on/ lead by example management style.
A Manager ensures the shift runs smoothly and attends to any unexpected problems or emergencies that arise, trains staff on service sequence, product knowledge, and makes every effort to meet the needs of each guest. The right candidate will have experience in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. We are looking for a candidate that possesses outstanding business and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to maintain high standards of quality and guest satisfaction while achieving our desired revenue and profits by managing staff, scheduling, establishing and accomplishing business/financial goals and objectives.
Requirements: A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a high-volume restaurant management experience.
Assists the management of all aspect of the business and day to day operations.
Fluent with P&L and cost analysis
Maintain a workplace that is clean and organized.
Coordinate and promote events and buyouts.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
Ability to educate and develop employees through proactive training approach.
Assist with scheduling.
Comply with all company policies/service procedures.
Fill in where is needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
Contribute to create a culture and work environment based upon respect; providing opportunities for staff to learn, grow and develop their abilities.
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
Effective oral communication skills and the ability to work as a team player.
Must be able to work flexible shifts, weekends and all holidays.
