Sr. Pricing Manager (Individual Contributor)

Our Opportunity: Chewy is hiring a Sr. Pricing Manager (Individual Contributor). The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated leader and problem-solver who can use quantitative and qualitative data to uncover key insights that drive product strategy and prioritization for Chewy's Pricing Team. As a Sr Pricing Manager, you will find yourself in a unique position of leveraging data science and analytics power to ultimately deliver end-to-end solutions that drive value for millions of pet parents. You will start from the customers' perspective to identify new opportunities within existing processes or to construct new sustainable solutions by partnering closely with design and engineering teams. You will own recurring core pricing tasks, lead automation initiatives, measure and optimize performance continuously, design and run pricing (A/B/C) tests and experimentation, and stay close to the customer to elevate Chewy's price sharpness and price perception, and drive business value.

What You'll Do:
  • Own and execute sophisticated pricing analyses using advanced SQL across large-scale transactional datasets
  • Lead pricing strategy for competitive matching, price perception and margin optimization
  • Champion cross functional initiatives with Merchandising, Private Brand Business, Supply Chain, Marketing, and other departments to translate pricing data and analytic insights into scalable and actionable business processes.
  • Work across business leadership, internal stakeholders, engineering, and data science to define and deliver the tools and automation to support our strategic competitive intelligence and pricing priorities.
  • Define, document, and prioritize requirements, ensuring operations' continuity and excellence
  • Translate complex pricing analyses into strategic proposals for senior leadership, clearly articulating the problem, proposed solution, trade-offs, and expected financial impact.
What You'll Need:
  • 6+ years of related work experience and demonstrated track record of innovation and impact.
  • Strong business acumen with a passion for managing recurring pricing tasks while building automation for pricing features and capabilities.
  • Strong analytical skills & creative problem solver that can turn data into actionable insights - ability to run analyses on large data sets and build complex analytical models
  • Advanced skill with SQL, Python, Tableau and statistical methods (hypothesis testing, A/B testing, statistical significance).
  • Demonstrated experience owning pricing strategy in a competitive retail or e-commerce environment.
  • Bias for action - both strategically and tactically.
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and generate innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
Bonus:
  • MBA or advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or related disciplines.
  • Experience building elasticity models or algorithmic pricing frameworks
  • Proven cross-functional leadership experience with the ability to develop teams and lead them to success. EQ to be a team player while still driving results.

The base salary range for this role is $118,500 - $189,500.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.

  • We offer different types of insurance and benefits, such as medical/Rx, vision, dental, life, disability, hospital indemnity, critical illness, and accident. We offer parental leave, family services benefits, backup dependent care, flexible spending accounts, telemedicine, pet adoption reimbursement, employee assistance program, and many discounts including 10% off pet insurance and 20% off at Chewy.com.
  • Exempt salary team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
