Orthopedic X-Ray Technologist (ARRT Certified)

Beaufort, South Carolina | Full-Time | Direct Hire

A leading medical provider in the Lowcountry is seeking a skilled and patient-focused X-Ray Technologist (ARRT Certified) to join our orthopedic team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced radiologic technologist who enjoys working in a fast-paced outpatient setting focused on musculoskeletal care. Position Summary

The X-Ray Technologist will perform diagnostic imaging procedures for orthopedic patients while ensuring exceptional patient care, image quality, and radiation safety. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working with physicians and clinical staff in an outpatient orthopedic environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations as ordered by providers.
  • Position patients accurately to obtain optimal orthopedic and musculoskeletal images.
  • Operate digital radiography equipment in accordance with established protocols.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining exams and addressing questions or concerns.
  • Maintain patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout imaging procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and ALARA principles.
  • Verify patient information and imaging orders to ensure accuracy.
  • Review images for quality and completeness prior to submission.
  • Upload, document, and maintain imaging records within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
  • Assist orthopedic physicians with imaging needs related to fractures, joint replacements, sports injuries, spine conditions, and other musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Maintain radiology equipment and promptly report equipment issues or service needs.
  • Adhere to infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, medical assistants, and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives and departmental process improvements.
Qualifications
Required
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
  • Current South Carolina radiologic technologist licensure (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Strong knowledge of orthopedic imaging techniques and anatomy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and patient-service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred
  • Previous experience in an orthopedic, sports medicine, or outpatient imaging setting.
  • Experience with digital radiography and PACS systems.
  • EMR experience preferred.
