Accounts Receivable Analyst I (Damage Claims) - Los Angeles

We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Analyst I to support an Accounts Receivable team with damage claim processing and invoicing related to company asset damages. This role is AR-focused and requires strong accounting fundamentals, advanced Excel skills, and hands-on experience working within SAP. The position supports billing accuracy, financial reconciliation, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries related to billing and accounts receivable activity
• Process and support invoicing tied to damage claims involving company assets
• Reconcile general ledger (GL) accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Provide guidance and support on cost accountingrelated questions
• Perform detailed financial and data analysis using Microsoft Excel
• Utilize multiple SAP modules to support AR and billing processes
• Interact effectively with internal teams and external partners/customers
• Support ongoing improvements to AR and billing processes

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Willing to substitute 45 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• Target experience range: 25 years
• Hands-on Accounts Receivable experience (strongly preferred)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (analysis, reconciliations, reporting)
• Experience working within SAP, including exposure to multiple modules
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification
• Prior experience in the utility or regulated industry
• Exposure to damage claims, asset-related billing, or compliance-driven environments
• Accounts Payable experience (acceptable, but AR background is strongly preferred)
