Job Details Employment Type: Full time. Shift: Evening Shift. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 12:00pm – 8:30pm with occasional flex. Responsibilities Assist with patient care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse, providing holistic, compassionate, individualized, and effective care. Provide technical assistance in the preparation of the anesthesia station, including cleaning, processing, and basic safety of anesthesia equipment and supplies. Maintain inventory of supplies and medications on the anesthesia cart in all operating rooms and the C‑section room, identifying both adult and pediatric supplies. Record and report equipment malfunctions to the Clinical Director or appropriate person. Maintain, assemble, and organize equipment to ensure a safe and secure environment, adhering to safety precautions for anesthetic agents. Assist anesthesia providers during procedures such as block insertions, difficult airway intubations, rapid transfusions, and general anesthesia. Prepare IV solutions under the supervision of the anesthetist or registered nurse. Assist with transporting patients and obtaining medications, supplies, and medical records from other departments. Serve as a resource to operating room staff on anesthesia equipment (gas machines, arterial line monitoring, rapid transfusers, jet ventilators). Provide physical, emotional, and spiritual care to patients, respecting age‑specific, culturally sensitive, and patient rights. Communicate care effectively, both verbally and in writing. Adhere to aseptic technique, sterilization, cardiac monitor functions, and other relevant procedures. Maintain confidentiality of patient information, disclosing only when authorized or legally required. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Previous experience in an operating room, anesthesia, or EMT training preferred but not required. Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter. Ability to understand and follow directions, and to work effectively as a team member. Demonstrated ability to impact change within the department and across departments.
