Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Specialized teaching opportunities are available for educators with expertise in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) instruction within Bucks County Intermediate Unit 22, serving multiple locations around Doylestown, PA. These contract positions involve working with students who have moderate to severe needs and require dedicated, skilled professionals committed to making a difference in their educational development.

Responsibilities include providing itinerant or center-based instruction and related services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students during the Extended School Year (ESY) session. Staff will work Monday through Thursday, primarily between 9:00 am and 2:30 pm, with some variation depending on location and assignment type. Teachers will be informed of classroom or caseload assignments by late May to early June, with efforts made to place staff at sites close to their residence as feasible.

Key Qualifications & Requirements:

• Valid Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing certification per Pennsylvania Department of Education standards.
• Ability to commit to the full ESY schedule from June 29 to July 30, 2026.
• Residence within 35 minutes of the assigned school site and reliable transportation.
• Comfort working with student populations exhibiting moderate to severe behavioral and educational needs.
• Availability to work varying hours based on location and site requirements, typically 1224 hours weekly.
• Submission of a complete application package including current resume with bullet highlights, proof of active licensure, and one supervisor reference (not coworker) demonstrating strong professional performance.

Additional Considerations:

• Candidates previously engaged with this client through another agency in the past year are ineligible, requiring a minimum one-year break before reapplying.
• Screening questions will address credentialing awareness, work availability, and commute logistics.
