Job Description
Core Responsibilities
● Station Setup & Prep: Preparing stations with necessary supplies, stocking inventory, and chopping/mixing ingredients before service.
● Cooking & Plating: Cooking food to order (grilling, sautéing, frying, ovens, etc.) according to restaurant/Chef’s standards and specifications.
● Food Safety & Hygiene: Maintaining a sanitary workstation, following food handling protocols, and ensuring proper food storage.
● Cleanup & Sanitation: Cleaning and sanitizing cooking surfaces, equipment, and workstations throughout and at the end of the shift.
● Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels, reporting shortages, and managing leftovers to minimize waste.
Key Qualifications & Skills
● Experience: Prior experience as a cook, prep cook, or in a fast-paced/quality food service environment is preferred.
● Technical Skills: Knowledge of cooking methods, ingredient preparation, and proper equipment operation.
● Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, work in high temperatures, and lift heavy items is required.
● Communication: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, coordinating with other line cooks and Chef
● Speed & Efficiency: Ability to produce high-quality dishes quickly in high-pressure situations.
Typical Requirements
● High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
● Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe).
