Responsibilities Investigate and resolve citizen complaints Review vehicle impound procedures and reports, and recommend appropriate action Prepare written responses to route slips Assign and evaluate the work of subordinates Train subordinates on the issuance of parking citations Schedule the work of subordinates Operate a personal computer to access citations and other information Review accidents and on-the-job injuries of City employees Attend review board meetings Perform other duties as assigned Benefits & Notes Employees in job classifications represented by the Municipal Employees Association (MEA) are scheduled to receive the following general wage increases: 3.5% effective 7/1/27 2% effective 7/1/28 2% effective 1/1/29 Eligible benefited employees originally hired on or after July 10, 2021, will be automatically enrolled in the San Diego City Employees Retirement System (SDCERS). Parking Enforcement Supervisor employees are required to work weekends, holidays, and/or a 4/10 schedule. Parking Enforcement Supervisor employees may be required to work varied days or shift work, holidays, and/or weekends, for which they may receive additional pay. Parking Enforcement Supervisor employees are required to repeatedly perform the following tasks: Enter and exit a three‑wheeled vehicle; bend, squat, reach, and twist; maneuver around, between, and inside a vehicle, etc. Parking Enforcement Supervisor employees may be required to supervise staff and perform patrol duties during inclement weather. Minimum Requirements You must meet the following requirements on the date you apply, unless otherwise indicated. Experience One year of full‑time experience at a level equivalent to a Parking Enforcement Officer II with the City of San Diego (a position that leads and participates in the work of Parking Enforcement Officers who patrol areas, issue parking violation notices, and impound illegally parked or abandoned vehicles). Three years of full‑time experience at a level equivalent to a Parking Enforcement Officer I with the City of San Diego (a position that patrols an assigned geographic area, issues parking violation notices, and provides general information to the public). Notes on Out‑of‑Class Assignment (OCA) City of San Diego employees using OCA experience to qualify must submit written documentation signed by their appointing authority or payroll specialist, detailing the work performed, dates, and total number of qualifying OCA hours.
